Navigating my past experiences and personal history, I rely on the appearance of frequencies and sound waves, nature, natural textures and curl patterns of hair as reference to my artistic practice. Working across media allows me to address and reevaluate the presence of these forms in society from various perspectives including past history, current events and my cultural heritage.
Ashante Kindle, an interdisciplinary artist, recently received her BFA in Studio Art from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. In the fall of 2019, she will begin pursuing her MFA at The University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT.
